- Case history: Eclipse Energy explain their plans for the Ormonde Project. Ormonde is a global first, integrating gas-fired power generation from end-of-life or ‘fallow’ gas fields utilised as a commercial catalyst in order to develop and generate renewable energy from an offshore wind power generation scheme. The session will cover their use of 5MW turbines from REpower, and foundations manufactured by Burntisland Fabrications; and will include details of their strong financing story as this is the first project financed offshore windfarm in the UK, and only the third in the world (Q7 and Thornton Bank being the others) - speakers include Ian Hatton of Eclipse Energy [ presentation ], Dietmar Gosch of REpower [ presentation ], and John Robertson of Burntisland Fabrication [ presentation ]
