EcoSearch are pleased to be supporting one of the UK's foremost microwind manufacturers and suppliers of micro hydro and solar powered generation systems who, as a result of recent and significant investment, are now expanding their sales, marketing, mechanical engineering and electronics engineering teams in order to seize the rapidly expanding market for small wind systems.
The company have been trailblazing in the microwind industry since the early 70's. Their turbines are renowned for their high quality, robustness and reliability, making them the turbine of choice for extreme locations and conditions. They have supplied their systems to thousands of domestic, scientific, leisure and commercial locations worldwide and are now developing a range of larger turbines.
The Role:
We are looking for an Electrical Engineer (Degree qualified or qualified by experience) with deep and broad knowledge of electrical machines, control theory and power systems with good mathematics and practical skills.
What you need to be able to practically demonstrate
MatLab-Simulink experience; test rig design & operation experience is essential. Preference will be given to candidates with PMG design experience; Labview experience; servo motor specification & selection; safety & control system design & testing experience; battery characteristics. Knowledge of typical domestic and industrial electrical distribution systems worldwide. Conversant with IEEE, UL, and IEC standards.
Perfect candidates will also have dual wound induction generator design experience; and typical 600vdc-440vac component and subsystem specification. Experience of providing commissioning support for electrical installations.
