The client is active in the field of offshore wind energy. The company is currently developing a new concept for offshore wind power plants together with a reputable network of key partners in the industry. The concept includes differentiating designs for the rotor, nacelle, support structure and electrical system. This holistic approach, covering the full life cycle of all components, will result in significant cost savings compared to current technologies. The team consists of experienced individuals from the wind industry comprising engineering, project development, supply chain management and commercial management.
Position description
You will be responsible for creating models, drawings, and leading the CAD team. The Senior CAD Engineer reports to the Team Leader Mechanical Engineering.
Tasks and responsibilities
Supervise / coordinate all CAD activities
Create models for main components (hub, main frame, generator frame, main shaft, couplings)
Create drawings
Maintain assembly
Technical contact with component suppliers
Education
Degree (BSc) in Mechanical Engineering or in a closely related discipline
Working experience
10+ Years of relevant working experience
Experience in modelling integrated systems
Experience in defining and implementing systems like cooling, air treatment, cranes is beneficial
Experience in working with suppliers and writing of specifications
Experience in the wind industry is an advantage
Personal skills
Good organizational and communication skills and be able to work within a multi-disciplinary team of engineers
Self-starter and pro-active problem solver
Software skills
SolidWorks or similar software
Language skills
Good command of business English, written and spoken
Command of German language is beneficial
