LOCATION
This is an exciting opportunity to join the company in the successful and highly respected Planning Group in the newly-established office in central Manchester.
TEAM
A strong multi-national practice with an excellent reputation, operating UK-wide from offices in Glasgow, Edinburgh and Manchester. Providing specialist commercial law services, they have an abundance of high-profile clients with expanding planning requirements. To meet this demand, the Planning Group, which is led by a Chambers-rated leading individual, is looking for a candidate who is currently at associate or partner level with the right breadth and depth of experience, likely to have been gained over several years in the planning law specialism.
THE ROLE
In-depth knowledge, experience and understanding of planning are essential, as is good project, public sector, energy and/or transportation experience, at least part of which has been gained in private commercial law practice. The ability to think laterally, a good eye for detail and a strong commercial focus are also essential. The successful candidate will thrive on challenge, enjoy being a key player in a busy team and can look forward to a varied workload, involving provision of advice on a broad range of planning, compulsory purchase, building regulation and highways issues, planning, highways and other statutory agreements, planning objections and applications, general strategic advising and opinion work. There will also be exposure to windfarm, energy and public sector work. In addition to high-quality work, the successful candidate can expect a good reward package and a progressive approach to development.
